LEADERSHIP

The breadth and depth of experience that PSS’s leadership team brings in education, animation technique, storytelling through film, and operating youth-focused programs is the strong foundation upon which all PSS’s programming is built.

STUDIO

PSS independently operates out of two large classroom facilities in Northern California, providing filmmaking and 3D animation classes for over 150 youth (ages 8+) per year through in-person training and online remote Zoom instruction.

INSTRUCTION

During their training at PSS, students are mentored by leading creative professionals from major animation film studios including Disney, Pixar, Nickelodeon, and DreamWorks Animation SKG. Our regular workshops and comprehensive instruction equips students with proficiency in all facets of animated filmmaking.

Students at PSS meet weekly, and are taught the fundamentals of filmmaking (writing, directing, acting, producing, editing, sound, etc.), as well as animation (storyboarding, 3D modeling, rigging, motion capture, lighting, and compositing).

AWARDS

Project Spark Studio has won over 50 festival awards and recognitions around the world through the Films Without Borders program, gaining a reputation as one of the leading youth-based animation studios in the world.

STUDENTS

PSS students undergo four stages of animated filmmaking training; Beginner (ages 8-12), Intermediate (ages 13-14), Advanced (ages 15-17), and Internship (ages 18-20). Once students complete the advanced PSS courses, they are provided opportunities to become interns and supervise class projects in a specific creative discipline based on their individual interests and skillset.
